OUR BELIEFS

What We Believe

Core Values

Our core values reflect the heart of our identity which is the Lord Jesus Christ. These values guide our decisions and reflect our purpose.

They do not change over time. These core values determine our behavior in this fallen world.

We behave with Humble Obedience to scripture.

Recognizing that God has perfectly revealed himself through his infallible word,

we willingly and joyfully submit to Holy Scripture.

(Ps. 19, 119, Isa. 55:10-11, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, 1 Pet. 1:20-21)

We behave with Christlike Compassion for others.

Since love is to be the mark of all true disciples, we warmly welcome all people,

and seek to love and serve each individual in Jesus’ Name.

(Mt. 22:37-40, Jn.13:34-35, 1Jn. 4:7-12)

We behave with Outward Focus on God’s Mission.

In obedience to the great commission, we seek to make disciples of the least and the lost,

and to support God’s mission across the street and across the world.

(Ex. 19:5-6, Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Rev. 7:9)

Our vision at First ARP is to fulfill the Great Commission. Through the preaching and teaching of God's word, we equip God's people for kingdom service.

(Eph. 4:7-15, 2 Tim. 4:1-5, Mt. 28:18-20)

Glorifying

We will pursue our vision by glorifying God in planning and conducting worship services that are biblically-rich, Christ-exalting, and gospel-focused in preaching, music, and prayer. (Jn. 4:23-24, Ps. 100, Eph. 5:18)

Gathering

We will seek to gather God’s people of all ages and stages of life and faith, through a diversity of groups, programs and ministries, to grow in their relationship with God and with one another. (Acts 2:42-45, Heb. 10:24-25, Col. 3:16)

Growing

We will seek to grow God’s Church by ministering to our community in word and in deed, planting more ARP churches and supporting foreign missions through faith promise giving and the sending out of missionaries. (Eph. 3:14-18, Acts 1:8, Mt. 28:18-20)

Grounding

We will remain grounded in the Gospel, through connection and partnership with the ARP Denomination. (Phil. 1, 1 Thess. 1:2, Acts 15)
